The Tovel series of drawings attempts to capture a flash memory image. Each step was executed in succession, in a continuous session. Each attemp tries to recreate the memory, yet with each drawing the memory becomes distorted and influenced by previous drawing. The Tovel series originates from a site specific event. These drawings continue with ongoing themes of archaeology and artifact, as well as finished/unfinished images. As with the G.O.T Excavation series, the Tovels are further exploring the idea of line as artifact and object. Mousing over the images will superimpose drawings over each other, making the differences more evident. If you mouse over the grouping repeatedly, the image becomes animated, perhaps coming closest to recreating the true flash memory image. Mousing over Tovel 6 (abandoned) will show the master preliminary line drawing used to create the mylar segments. |
